(15-06-2020) Biggekerke - Maandagmiddag heeft een brand in een mesthoop voor forse rookontwikkeling gezorgd. Rond 15:20 uur werd de brandweer gebeld om de brand, die woedde op een perceel aan de Bergweg in Biggekerke, door te geven. De beroepsbrandweer van Middelburg ging met het blusvoertuig ter plaatse. Ter plaatse aangekomen werd eerst een waterwinning opgebouwd uit de naastgelegen watergang. Met twee stralen lage druk is de brand gedoofd. Met hooivorken is de hoop mest uit elkaar getrokken om de brand goed te kunnen blussen. In het verleden is de brandweer al meerdere keren naar dit perceel uitgerukt omdat er een brand woedde in een mesthoop of in gemaaid riet.
